Engagiversary

On April 20th, 2003, I proposed to my lovely wife. We lived on Paradise Avenue in South Lake Tahoe, and it was spring, and it was Easter Sunday. I made an easter egg hunt, and put the last egg out on the deck in the sunshine, and when she found it I was ready, down on one knee, to ask the question. Today is the thirteen year anniversary of that event.

I just wanted to take a day and a blog to say thank you to her. A lot of time has passed, and I have some more gray hairs, and there have been great days and difficult days in our lives, but our love has never wavered, even for a moment. The path we have chosen is a difficult one, and it takes a lot of patience, and a lot of sucking it up and dealing with people we would rather not have to deal with, but, together, we keep on keeping on, and it seems like every year gets a little bit better, and every day we come a little bit closer to our goals. One of these days we are going to reach them, and then we will know that we have done it together, and the journey will all be one hundred percent worth it. Thank you lover, for saying yes, because I couldn’t do it without you, and I wouldn’t want to.

When it all comes down to it, I wouldn’t change a single thing. I wish everyone in the world could feel that way, but I’m so grateful that I do, and I know that no matter what happens in the days to come we will face it together and be better off because we have each other. Happy engagiversary Kim!
